Elements of the Eye Thomas Tooma

We use our eyes in virtually every task we accomplish depend on our eyesight perhaps more than every other sense we have. Sight is the most important of the five senses, and many people fear blindness more than any other disability.

The attention allows us to see as well as decipher the hues and angles of things in the world by processing the light they reflect or give off.

The eye has the capacity to see in dim light or vibrant light, but it can't see objects whenever light is lacking. The eye changes light rays into electrical signals then sends them to the brain, which interprets these electric signals as visual images.

The eye is set in a protective cone-shaped cavity in the head called the orbit and measures approximately one inch in diameter.

The orbit is surrounded by layers of soft, fatty tissue which defend the eye and enable it to turn easily. 6 muscles regulate the actual motion of the attention. Among the more important areas of the human eye would be the iris, cornea, lens, retina, conjunctiva, macula, and the optic nerve
